Deco answered all doubts about his age and pace by terrorising Portsmouth's centre-halves, then providing a stunning goal. Scolari delivered on his promise to inject some flair by devising a tactical scheme full of verve and enterprise. Even Frank Lampard was in on the act, dispatching an easy penalty."

Lampard signs new contract
Frank Lampard has signed a new five-year deal which will keep him at the club until 2013.
Lampard's contract was due to expire at the end of the 2008/09 season and he had been the subject of much speculation as Jose Mourinho attempted to lure him to Inter Milan. Chelsea rejected at least one bid from the Serie A side, thought to be in the region of £9m.
While a four-year deal had been on the table for some time, Lampard held out for a longer-term contract and the club eventually agreed to give him an extra year.
"I'm personally very happy and I hope I've made the Chelsea fans happy," Lampard told Chelsea TV, where news of the deal was announced in a 'world exclusive'.

Fantasy Football
It's that time of year again. Football fans around the globe are pouring over player statistics in newspapers and on websites convinced they can build a fantasy team that will bring them untold fame and fortune.
Okay. I exaggerate. But trips to the Champions League final, match tickets, official replica team shirts, PlayStations and other great prizes are up for grabs in OleOle's recently launched Fantasy Football competition.
We were flair players and that meant we couldn't turn it on every week. We wished we could, but we would win you more games than we would lose. Charlie [Cooke], Huddy [Alan Hudson], they could create, they could give me the perfect ball and I scored. If anything went wrong, though, Huddy and me got the bollockings. We lost 3-0, 'What were you two doing?' [Dave] Sexton'd ask. 'What about the defence?' we'd reply.
